Vodio - Podcasting 2.0 Monetization

The BadGeek association which publishes and manages Vodio.fr is an association under the 1901 law whose objective is to help creators of audio content to produce, improve, distribute and find their audience. Since 2010, the association has been supporting podcasters at each stage of their work, from recording to publication, including broadcasting and communication. Vodio is free to use for podcasters. To fund their operation they ask for contributions on their page. Thus, Vodio is deeply rooted in the mindset of Value 4 Value.

It is great to see that Podcasting 2.0 finds further adoption globally, as a collection of initiatives that advance podcasting's open technology. One of these initiatives is called Value 4 Value, where content creators generate value through their content and, in return, listeners are encouraged to give back the value they receive. This concept was brought to the podcasting industry by a unified specification, the <podcast:value> tag, that allows listeners to support their favourite shows through Value 4 Value-enabled podcast listening apps.
