Dear Alby Community,
This is the fourth edition of the monthly Alby Buzz
In this edition, we cover:
- Alby in the wild
- Publishing the WebLN.Guide
- Alby's deeper integration with Podcasting 2.0
- What’s new in Alby
Alby in the Wild
With Amy and Ajay steering content for us now, we have the bandwidth to firstly, organize our existing presence on various platforms, better and secondly, establish our presence and engage on platforms where the wider community is present. So, here's where Alby can now be found-
1) Keen-eyed observers would have noticed they're reading this monthly buzz not on Substack but on Ghost. Yes, we migrated the blog to Ghost. Why? Simply, because it offered more flexibility, features, and better integration possibilities all of which you will see in due course. And Ghost, like Alby, is open-source.
2) A platform that deserves magnitudes more attention than it gets, and that we can't appreciate enough is Stacker News. We intend to engage with the vibrant community over at SN for more focused and action-oriented conversations.
3) Bumi appeared in Einundzwanzig, a German Bitcoin podcast, where he gave a demo of Alby and spoke about its possibilities.
Publishing the WebLN.Guide
Rene Aaron, a key contributor of Alby, recently co-wrote the publication of webLN.Guide.
WebLN is a set of specifications for Lightning apps and client providers to facilitate communication between web apps and users' lightning nodes in a secure way. It provides a programmatic, permissioned interface for letting applications ask users to send payments, generate invoices to receive payments, and much more.
Check out what he built and get inspired to start building on webLN yourself.
Alby's deeper integration with Podcasting 2.0
Readers must be familiar with Podcasting 2.0 and how listeners can send value using the Lightning Network. And now with Podverse, an open-source podcast app for iOS, Android, and web, listeners can send bitcoins with boostagrams/superchats to podcasters with Alby. Here's the announcement-
Now every podcaster can integrate that plugin on their own website, like The SLIEK Podcast for example-
There's a lot more coming from the Alby beehive to facilitate Value 4 value payments. And we can't contain the excitement :)
What's new in Alby
The Summer of Bitcoin participants have now joined the team working on their proposals. Eagerly looking forward to how their endeavours take shape.
And saving the biggest news for the last. A new release, our biggest in terms of contributors till now. Check. It. Out.
v1.10.0 🌈 Bear market = build market, or something along those lines
That’s it from the hive for this month. For more, visit our website and follow Alby on Twitter.
